Gurman says the biggest challenge is extending Apple's decades-long success into the AI era, with September seen as a major test as Apple rolls out a new Siri AI to compete with ChatGPT.

Apple reportedly aims to monetize such AI by charging for features or by integrating third-party apps into the voice assistant, but Siri must first overcome long-standing criticisms of instability and limited usefulness. Early reviews of Siri AI are generally positive.
