China Shipbuilding Subsidiary Wins Over $1 Billion Order for 10 LNG Dual-Fuel Carriers
China Shipbuilding on Sept. 2 announced that its controlling subsidiary Guangzhou Shipyard International and China Shipbuilding Trading signed a newbuilding contract on Sept. 1 with a prominent shipowner for ten LNG dual-fuel car carriers, each capable of carrying 8,200 vehicles.
The contract value exceeds $1 billion and will be settled in U.S. dollars, with deliveries anticipated between 2029 and 2031, according to Jiemian News.
China Shipbuilding noted that the extended contract horizon is not expected to materially affect current profit, but it could bolster the group's medium- to long-term market competitiveness and profitability.
