Iran Says Transit Framework with Oman for Strait of Hormuz Won't Take Effect Without US Obligations
On August 29 local time, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said Tehran has reached a transit framework with Oman for the Strait of Hormuz. He said the framework will not automatically enter into force and would only take effect if the United States meets its obligations. Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that Iran is not rushing to reopen the strait.
