JPMorgan Sees Q3 Growth in Trading Revenue and IB Fees, Contrasting Bank of America's Caution
JPMorgan is forecasting growth in its third-quarter trading revenue and investment banking (IB) fee income, signaling a contrast with Bank of America's more cautious view.
At a Barclays conference, JPMorgan Co-President Doug Petno indicated that for the quarter ending September 30, trading revenue is expected to rise roughly 15% to 19% year over year, with investment banking fees expected to increase by a similar pace.
Bank of America had earlier said its third-quarter trading revenue is expected to be relatively flat year over year.
Following Petno's remarks, JPMorgan shares edged higher, briefly rising about 0.9% after trading had dipped earlier.
