KPMG's Diane Swonk Sees Mixed Signals in August Jobs Report
Diane Swonk, chief economist at KPMG, described the August employment report as presenting mixed but solid signals in the labor market.
Payrolls rose by 162,000, beating expectations, while the unemployment rate remained at 4.1%.
The release also included revisions to earlier figures, and Swonk noted that the data carry a lot of noise, complicating the interpretation of underlying trends.
