NVIDIA CEO Personally Reviews Compensation for 42,000 Employees, Often Increasing Costs
NVIDIA chief executive Jensen Huang is described as personally reviewing pay and compensation recommendations for about 42,000 employees at the end of each compensation cycle, with the practice commonly resulting in higher operating expenses.
According to a report cited by ChainCatcher, Huang told the outlet that taking care of employees helps other priorities fall into place and that his leadership team has produced more billionaires than any other CEO.
The same report references a survey of about 3,000 Nvidia staff, indicating roughly 76% to 78% had become millionaires, with about half reporting a net worth above $25 million. The article notes employees can purchase company stock through a plan at a 15% discount, and Nvidia’s stock has climbed about 3,800% since 2019, significantly boosting worker wealth.
