Schwartz Warns of Cybersecurity Risks in Autonomous Vehicles
Former New York City Traffic Commissioner Sam Schwartz warned on Bloomberg's This Weekend program that the growth of autonomous vehicles brings cybersecurity concerns, including the risk that bad actors could seize control of connected cars and use them as weapons, according to Bloomberg.
Schwartz noted that his new novel, Autokill, examines this threat.
He added that autonomous vehicles could still offer substantial safety benefits if companies increase transparency and governments prepare for emerging risks.
