Solana Expands x402 Batch Payments as Anza Targets 200ms Block Times
Solana has rolled out x402 batch payment capability through PayAI Network and BlockRunAI, enabling AI agents to initiate several USDC transfers and settle them in a single on-chain transaction. Odaily notes that BlockRunAI has already adopted the technology in its AI model routing service.
The providers say consolidating multiple model calls into one USDC settlement could save more than $20,000 in monthly network fees and reduce latency by about tenfold. The service connects to more than 113 AI models via a single endpoint.
Anza, a Solana development firm, said an upgrade to bring block times down to 200 milliseconds is expected to go live at around 15:00 UTC on October 9. The network has previously reduced block times from 400 milliseconds to 350, 300 and 250 milliseconds.
