UK to recruit 500 officers in £500 million money-laundering crackdown
The UK will recruit 500 officers as part of a £500 million three-year initiative to curb money laundering, per NS3.AI. The funding will back the development of a new Anti-Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Strategy.
The officers will be deployed across police forces, the National Crime Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service as part of the nationwide effort. The strategy is intended to build on ongoing work under Operation Destabilise.
