UK weighs Saudi requests for military and diplomatic support against Houthi offensive
British Prime Minister Burnham is weighing whether to offer diplomatic and military backing to Saudi Arabia as Yemen's Houthi movement intensifies attacks.
Sina Finance, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that Saudi officials have submitted a series of requests for diplomatic and military support.
The requests include operational support for Saudi forces to push back the Iran-backed group as it advances along Yemen's Red Sea coast toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as well as help defending Saudi oil infrastructure.
It remains unclear whether Burnham would approve the requests, and the British government has not disclosed them. A spokesperson said Britain will work with partners to support regional stability.
