Unitree Refutes Claims of Expense Rules and Punitive Management After STAR Market Debut
Unitree Technology said several online assertions about its internal governance are untrue and asked the public to disregard them, following topics highlighted by Jiemian News on September 1 such as expense reimbursements above 100 yuan needing approval from Wang Xingxing and a punitive incentive system.
The company also addressed earlier reports that characterized Wang Xingxing as direct and strict, noting that employees were instructed not to disclose company information and that Wang places a strong emphasis on product details and cost control.
According to Jiemian News, Unitree was founded on August 26, 2016, lists Wang Xingxing as its legal representative, and operates in high-performance humanoid robots, quadruped robots, robot components and embodied intelligence models. The article also stated that Unitree officially listed on the STAR Market on August 19, raising 6.099 billion yuan in gross proceeds, exceeding the planned 4.202 billion yuan, with net proceeds after fees around 5.917 billion yuan. It noted that more than 85% of funds would be allocated to research and development projects.
The report further documented that Unitree's stock began trading at 1,100 yuan per share on its debut, rising about 629.44% from the 150.80 yuan issue price, and later closed on September 1 at 571.1 yuan, implying a market value near 231 billion yuan. It also detailed Wang's direct and indirect holdings, the paper wealth of several core staff and investors, and the company's employee and compensation data, including 480 employees as of the end of September 2025 and 90.2094 million yuan in R&D spending in the first three quarters of 2025.
