Chinese President Xi Jinping said rescue operations faced extreme difficulties after a deadly mudslide struck the Himalayas near the Nepal border, Bloomberg reported.

He directed that surveys of glaciers and glacial lakes across the Tibetan Plateau be conducted more rapidly to assess risks and guide response efforts.
