New York Fed President Williams: Strong Economy Behind Higher Treasury Yields

In a CNBC Squawk Box interview, he said he is still reviewing incoming data and did not indicate whether another rate increase would be appropriate.

He added that inflation expectations remain well anchored despite this year's rise in prices tied to tariffs and the Iran War.

UK Heatwave Boosts Grape Quality as Winemakers Brace for Weather Extremes

Author

A hot British summer has improved grape quality and opened the prospect of expanding red-wine production, according to Sina Finance.

Alastair Benham, operations director at Gusbourne in Kent, said the warmth has positively affected the vineyards, and the fruit harvested so far is in excellent condition. He added that the industry must stay adaptable and use technology to reduce the impact of extreme events after a relatively cool and wet year two years ago.

Ian Beecher-Jones, owner of JoJo's Vineyard in Oxfordshire, described this as a bumper year for grapes, but noted that producers should not focus only on heat and must also consider heavy rainfall and soil management.

Sam Lindo, head of Camel Valley in Cornwall, said the grapes are very good, but traditional-method sparkling wine still requires whole-bunch pressing to soften the base wine's flavor and avoid bubbles amplifying the wine's character.

Wine expert Kent Barker said sustained heat could improve England's ability to make high-quality red wine.

Christopher Wokey, co-founder of wine consultancy Clerissa, said warmer weather could attract more investors to England's wine industry.

Sherrie Spriggs, Nyetimber's chief winemaker in West Sussex, said recent years have brought highly variable weather, and the only way to keep working is to prepare for both hot, dry conditions and cool, wet seasons.

Chris White, chief executive of Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey, said if hot summers continue, the estate may shift toward earlier-ripening varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while wetter periods could push it toward more disease-resistant hybrid varieties.

Galia Pike, creative director at Westwell Wine Estates in Kent, said this year will bring an astonishing harvest, but one outstanding vintage does not mean the next year will repeat it.

Hyperliquid Strategies Boosts Chardan Facility to $2.5 Billion

Author

Hyperliquid Strategies has expanded its equity facility with Chardan Capital Markets from $1 billion to $2.5 billion, increasing its capacity to raise capital through share issuances tied to its HYPE-focused treasury strategy. The company also said it amended the October 2025 Chardan Equity Facility purchase agreement to raise the aggregate gross purchase price of newly issued common stock.

Under the agreement, Hyperliquid can periodically instruct Chardan to purchase shares at pricing, trading volume, and other conditions, after which Chardan may resell the shares in the public market.

The larger facility offers more potential funding, but any use of it would issue additional shares and could dilute existing shareholders.

The $2.5 billion figure represents maximum capacity rather than funds already raised.

Hyperliquid Strategies previously reported raising $647 million through the facility and expanding its treasury to about 29.3 million HYPE tokens.

The expansion comes amid renewed market interest in Hyperliquid. HYPE rose more than 20% in August after remarks from former U.S. president Donald Trump that the CFTC chair was working to bring the decentralized trading platform into the United States in a fully compliant and legal fashion. Hyperliquid Strategies shares rose 30.4% following those remarks.

Despite sharing the protocol's name and holding its native token, the company says it remains independent and has no formal affiliation with Hyperliquid.

UBS Lowers MINISO Target to $14, Maintains Buy Rating

Author

UBS reduced MINISO's target price to $14 from $19.84 and kept a Buy rating, according to ETNet.

The bank noted MINISO delivered 17% year-on-year revenue growth to RMB 5.81 billion in the second quarter, while adjusted net profit declined 10% to RMB 588 million, in line with the company’s profit warning. Revenue by segment rose 23% in China, 9% overseas, and 17% from TOP TOY.

UBS said overseas growth cooled as distributor sales fell, led by Asia-Pacific and Latin America markets. The higher-margin distributor model contributed less revenue, which helped push the second-quarter adjusted operating margin down by about three percentage points year over year.

Valuation-wise, the stock trades at eight times forecast 2026 adjusted net profit and seven times forecast 2027 adjusted net profit, a level UBS says largely reflects ongoing pressure from overseas distributor channel restructuring. Management expects further distributor store closures and margin pressure in the near term, but notes that downside risks appear priced in. Domestic operations remain resilient and should support earnings via store upgrades and productivity gains.

UBS added that management has slowed store expansion, which should ease operating expense pressure and bolster profitability. It projects overseas business to account for more than 40% of group profit in 2025, declining to below 30% in its 2026 forecast.
